Who Am I

I am a computer professional with many (too many ?) years of hacking, studying and developing behind. I worked in private and public research, in ISVs, in free software companies, small and large companies and institutions, startups and governmental organizations.

Currently I work in the French tax agency, in the software engineering unit, where my duty is to coordinate the technical work of a team dedicated to industrialize the software development in the house, mostly using free software tools; we make internal code and packaging standards, choose tools, and suggest methods; I do not code anymore, too old for the french market :->.

I my spare time I work as an external expert with the European Commission, assisting in evaluation and reviews of IST projects.

I am available, on a limited base, and subject to permission of my main employer, for short missions with public and private research/training organizations and other institutions, in fields like free software models and adoption, software engineering, software architectures, programming languages; i can also make available my competences in computer music, after my experience as researcher in Ircam, and my experience as musicians (see my music web site).

I believe that online CVs are boring, so instead i’ll try to tell a few story about my experience, the places I worked in, the projects I saw, with a special attention for open source projects. On some projects you’ll find links to the documentation or even the source code.
